WCMEA membership is invited to attend a social at the Seton Hill University new Performing Arts Center! Attendees will enjoy talking with the faculty, take a tour of the new facility, and participate in a discussion on the new state requirements for music education majors. This will be the first meeting of a partnership with SHU and WCMEA for professional development meetings. Members will have an opportunity to discuss any concerns or possible professional development activities with the university. This event is made available free of charge to WCMEA members. Please make an effort to attend. Professional development has been a topic of discussion at many, many, many festival meetings and membership meetings. This is a concept that has been talked about but not developed. The officers have committed to making this idea a reality. This will be the first step as we forge a new and improved partnership with Seton Hill University. Please send me an email if you are considering attending this event. Reminder emails will be forwarded again in January!

It is time to begin thinking long term for the benefit of our students and the success of the association. Please consider hosting a county festival! There are many openings available particularly for sixth grade chorus and fifth and sixth grade band. The officers are willing to assist you through the planning process. The success of our organization depends on the efforts and work of individual members who volunteer.
In addition, nominations are being accepted throughout the year for Vice President. If you are interested or would like to nominate a member, please email our current Vice President, Melanie Callas. mcallas@wiu.k12.pa.us
